Ask the Prime Minister to correct the record

All MPs—including government ministers—need to back up their claims and correct themselves if they get something wrong

On 1 February the Prime Minister told the House of Commons that the Labour Party and Sir Keir Starmer are being “bankrolled” by the protest group Just Stop Oil.

We can find no evidence that this is true. Just Stop Oil has also stated they “do not bankroll Labour”.

When the Prime Minister entered Downing Street he committed to ‘restore trust into politics’ and put ‘integrity and honesty’ at the heart of his Government. This is his chance to show he means it.

Will you ask Rishi Sunak to either back up his claim with evidence, or admit his mistake and correct the record?

50 MPs failed to correct their mistakes when challenged by Full Fact last year. It’s not good enough.

More than 40,000 people agree politicians from all parties need to do more and stand up for honest politics. This year Full Fact is asking its supporters to help call on MPs to correct their mistakes when they make them.
